Tour Overview: The 08 Nights / 09 Days Grand Kerala & Kanyakumari Experience

Embark on a soul-stirring journey through the “Green Symphony” of India with our Grand Kerala Group Getaway. This 9-day meticulously planned expedition is designed to showcase the diverse landscapes of South India—from the historic spice-scented streets of Cochin and the sacred spiritual aura of Guruvayoor to the misty tea gardens of Munnar and the iconic “Land’s End” at Kanyakumari. Whether you are a nature lover, a spiritual seeker, or a culture enthusiast, this group tour offers a perfect blend of relaxation, adventure, and divinity.

The Journey Begins: History and Heritage

The tour kicks off in Cochin, the “Queen of the Arabian Sea.” Here, you step back in time as you explore the Dutch Palace and the iconic Chinese Fishing Nets. The journey then moves to Guruvayoor, the spiritual heart of Kerala, where you can seek blessings at the historic Krishna Temple and witness the majestic residents of the Punnathur Kotta Elephant Sanctuary—one of the largest of its kind in the world.

Nature’s Masterpiece: Hills and Wildlife

As we head toward Munnar, the landscape transforms into endless rolling hills covered in lush green tea carpets. At an altitude of 1,600 meters, you will breathe in the crisp mountain air while visiting the Eravikulam National Park and Mattupetty Dam. The adventure continues in Thekkady, where the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary awaits. Here, the aroma of fresh spices fills the air, and a boat ride on Periyar Lake offers a chance to spot wild elephants and exotic birds in their natural habitat.

Serenity on the Water: Backwaters and Beaches

No Kerala experience is complete without its backwaters. In Kumarakom, you will experience the tranquil life along the Vembanad Lake, a paradise for birdwatchers. The tour then takes a scenic turn toward Kovalam, famous for its crescent-shaped beaches. To ensure you return refreshed, we have included a 1-hour traditional Ayurvedic massage, a world-renowned Kerala specialty designed to rejuvenate your body and mind after days of exploration.

The Grand Finale: Kanyakumari & Trivandrum

The tour reaches its crescendo at Kanyakumari, the southernmost tip of mainland India. Witnessing the sunset at the confluence of the Arabian Sea, the Bay of Bengal, and the Indian Ocean is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Visit the Vivekananda Rock Memorial and the Kanyakumari Temple before concluding the trip in Thiruvananthapuram, where the architectural brilliance of the Padmanabhaswamy Temple leaves every traveller in awe.

FAQs

1. Is the Aadhaar Card allowed for this tour?
Technically, Aadhaar is a valid ID for Indians, but Holiday Mantra specifically requires a Voter ID or Passport for this group departure. This is because they use these documents to process group permits and hotel registrations more efficiently in South India. To avoid any issues with the agency or local authorities during the tour, it is highly recommended to follow the agency’s rule and carry your Original Voter ID or Passport.
Kerala is generally humid and tropical. Pack light cotton clothes for Cochin, Kovalam, and Kanyakumari. However, Munnar and Thekkady can get chilly in the evenings, so carry a light jacket or sweater. If you are traveling in the monsoon months, an umbrella or raincoat is a must.
Yes, this is a “Full Board” (APAI) package. It includes Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. Most group tours only offer Breakfast and Dinner, but we have included Lunch to ensure you have a hassle-free experience during long sightseeing days.
Yes, a 1-hour Ayurvedic massage is included as a complimentary part of your package during the journey from Kanyakumari to Kovalam. It is a traditional treatment designed to relax your body after the week-long travel.
Kerala is a coastal state with winding roads, especially in hilly areas like Munnar. While the distances (e.g., 90km–150km) may seem short, the travel time can be 3 to 5 hours due to the terrain. We use comfortable Tempo Travellers to ensure the group stays relaxed.
Both temples follow a strict traditional dress code. Men are required to wear a Mundu (Dhoti) and remain bare-chested or use a Veshti. Women must wear a Saree or a long skirt and blouse (Salwar suits are allowed in some areas but not all). Non-Hindus are generally not permitted inside the inner sanctum of these specific temples.
