Additional Information: Important Guidelines

01DocumentsEvery traveler must carry original Government ID proofs (Aadhar/Passport/Voter ID). Note: PAN Card is not accepted as address proof.
02Inner Line PermitFor Arunachal Pradesh, ILP is mandatory. Foreign nationals must provide Passport and Visa details at least 30 days prior.
03Health & AltitudeTawang is a high-altitude destination. If you have heart/respiratory issues, consult a doctor before booking. Carry basic medical kits.
04ConnectivityMobile networks (especially in high-altitude areas like Tawang and Sela Pass) can be erratic. BSNL/Jio usually work best; be prepared for intermittent signal.
05Packing StrategyPack in “layers.” The weather changes from humid plains to freezing mountain passes in a single day. A heavy windcheater/jacket is a must.
06Eco-ResponsibilityThe Northeast is an eco-sensitive zone. Littering is strictly fined. Please carry a small waste bag and dispose of trash only in designated bins.
07Itinerary AdjustmentsMountain roads are prone to landslides or heavy fog. The tour operator reserves the right to modify the route for your safety; no refunds apply for missed sites due to weather.
08Vehicle PolicyThe vehicle is provided for the itinerary route only (Pick-up/Drop/Sightseeing). It is not at your disposal for personal errands or late-night outings.
09Cultural EtiquetteAlways ask permission before taking photographs of locals or inside monastery prayer halls. Dress modestly when visiting religious sites.

FAQs

1. Is an Inner Line Permit (ILP) required for this tour?
Yes. Since this itinerary includes visits to Arunachal Pradesh (Bhalukpong, Dirang, Tawang, and Bomdila), an Inner Line Permit (ILP) is mandatory for all Indian citizens. Foreign nationals require a Protected Area Permit (PAP). We assist in processing these permits, so please ensure you share your valid ID proofs at least 15–20 days before your travel date.
The ideal time to visit is from March to June (pleasant weather and blooming orchids) and October to November (clear skies and stunning mountain views). We generally advise avoiding the peak monsoon season (July to September) due to heavy rains and the possibility of road blocks, and mid-winter (late December to February) if you are sensitive to extreme cold.
Tawang and the Sela Pass are at very high altitudes (Sela Pass is over 13,000 feet). While most travelers acclimate well, it is normal to experience mild symptoms like shortness of breath. We recommend staying hydrated, avoiding strenuous activity on your first day of arrival, and carrying basic motion sickness and altitude medication as a precaution.
Because the climate varies drastically—from the humid plains of Assam to the freezing temperatures in Tawang—the “layering” method is essential. Pack a heavy jacket, woolens, and thermal wear for Tawang, and comfortable, breathable cotton clothing for Shillong and Guwahati. Don’t forget sturdy walking shoes and a small daypack.
The Northeast is famous for its natural beauty, but the terrain is mountainous. Travel times can be long, and the roads are winding. While we ensure your vehicle is comfortable (SUV/Innova), please be prepared for long, scenic drives. We recommend using this time to enjoy the landscape, listen to music, or read—it is a significant part of the adventure!
This tour involves significant travel time and high-altitude areas. While it is a “leisure” tour, it can be physically demanding. We recommend this itinerary for healthy, active travelers. If you have specific medical concerns or are traveling with young children, please contact us so we can discuss potential pace adjustments to ensure a comfortable experience for everyone.
